Beyond Scan - Terms of Service

Beyond Scan (the “App”) · operated by Beyond Industries LTD (“Beyond Industries”, “we”, “us”).

By downloading, installing, or using Beyond Scan, you agree to these Terms of Service and to our Privacy Policy. If you don’t agree, don’t use the App.

1. What Beyond Scan does

Beyond Scan is an iOS app that helps you scan, catalogue, price, and trade trading cards. Prices come from public sources (currently eBay). Grading data comes from PSA and Ace Grading. Card artwork comes from multiple public data sources.

Beyond Scan is an independent tool. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any card game publisher, marketplace, or grading company.

2. Your account

Accounts use Sign in with Apple. You do not create a password with us.
You are responsible for keeping your Apple ID secure. Anything done through your account is your responsibility.
One account per person, unless you’re a business with multiple staff seats on the Business tier.

3. Subscriptions and one-time purchases

3.1 What’s on offer

Free — no charge.
Pro — £4.99/month or £39.99/year, auto-renewing.
Business — £19.99/month or £199/year, auto-renewing.
Founder — £29.99, one-time, lifetime access to Business features. Limited to the first 500 purchases.

Prices shown at checkout are the definitive prices — the App Store may localise or update them.

3.2 Auto-renewal

Monthly and annual subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase and on each renewal date. You can cancel at any time via Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.

3.3 7-day trial

Every new account gets a 7-day trial of the Business tier at no charge. At the end of the trial you can pick any tier (including Free) — nothing charges automatically.

3.4 Founder tier

The Founder purchase is one-time, non-refundable outside App Store’s own refund policy, and grants lifetime access to Business features under this agreement. If we ever raise Business prices, Founder pricing stays locked as originally offered.

3.5 Refunds

Refunds are handled by Apple, not by us. To request one, use Report a Problem at reportaproblem.apple.com. We can advocate on your behalf if there’s a technical issue with the App — email support@beyondtcg.co.uk.

4. Your data belongs to you

Your collections, wishlists, scan history, and trade history are yours. We store them locally on your device, not on our servers.
You can export a CSV of your data at any time from within the App (Pro tier and above).
If you delete the App, we delete our copy (there isn’t one).

5. Pricing data — read this carefully

Prices displayed in the App are estimates, drawn from public marketplaces (currently eBay’s active-listings API). They are not guaranteed to be accurate, current, or achievable in any actual transaction.

We do our best, but we do not guarantee any specific price for any specific card at any specific time.
We do not accept liability for financial decisions made based on displayed prices.
If you’re making a large purchase or sale, verify the price at the source.

6. Trade flow

The App includes a peer-to-vendor trade flow: you can flag cards for trade, generate a QR code, and show it to a card shop or dealer. The shop scans the QR, generates an offer, and either party can accept.

We are not a party to trades. Trades happen between you and a third-party vendor, in person, using cash or store credit or whatever payment method the two of you agree.
We do not hold funds or ship cards. Everything physical happens between you and the other party.
We do not guarantee vendor conduct. Ratings and reviews are informational; use your judgement.
We do not resolve disputes. If a vendor mis-graded a card or an offer went wrong, that’s between you and them.

7. Rules for using the App

You agree not to:

Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code (beyond what’s permitted by Apple’s terms and applicable law).
Use the App to scrape data at industrial scale (the App is for personal or small-business use — abusing our upstream data sources abuses us).
Impersonate another person or business, especially in the vendor flow.
Upload false content (e.g., mis-representing card condition on trades).
Use the App for anything illegal in your jurisdiction.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that break these rules.

8. Intellectual property

The App itself — code, UI, and the Beyond Scan and Beyond TCG brands — is owned by Beyond Industries LTD. You get a personal, revocable licence to use it, subject to these Terms and the App Store’s usage rules.
Card names, artwork, and characters shown in the App are the intellectual property of their respective owners. We display them descriptively — nominative use — to identify cards you’re scanning. We claim no rights to them.
Prices and market data are sourced from public APIs; the underlying data is the property of the marketplaces (eBay etc.), used under their public API terms.

9. Warranty disclaimer

The App is provided as is, without warranty of any kind. We don’t warrant that:

Prices are accurate at any given moment.
The scanner will identify every card correctly (we aim high but not 100%).
Every card is in our catalogue.
The App will be uninterrupted or error-free.
Third-party services (eBay, PSA, Ace) will remain available.

If the App doesn’t work for you, your remedy is to stop using it and (if applicable) request a refund via Apple.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Beyond Industries LTD is not liable for:

Any financial loss arising from reliance on prices or grading information displayed in the App.
Any loss arising from a trade you completed with a third party.
Any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages.

Our total liability to you for any claim relating to the App is capped at the greater of £50 or the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

Nothing in this section limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under UK law.

11. Third-party services

The App integrates with third-party services (eBay, PSA, Ace, Apple, Cloudflare, Loops). Their availability and terms are outside our control; if a service goes down or changes, features that depend on it may degrade or disappear. We’ll do our best to communicate significant changes.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms as the App evolves. If we make material changes:

We’ll update the “Last updated” date.
We’ll show an in-app notice at next launch.
Continued use of the App after 30 days means you accept the new Terms.

If you disagree with a change, stop using the App and cancel any subscription via the App Store.

13. Termination

You can stop using the App at any time by deleting it. Cancel subscriptions via Apple.
We may suspend or terminate access if you break these Terms, if a legal or safety issue requires it, or if we discontinue the App. We’ll give reasonable notice where possible.

14. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute that cannot be resolved directly will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

Nothing here removes any consumer-protection rights you have under the laws of your country of residence that cannot be waived by contract.
